「不滅のあなたへ」のエンディングテーマを生んだ作曲家・浜渦正志さんからのコメントが届きました！
A message from composer Masashi Hamauzu, who created the TO YOUR ETERNITY ending theme!
この作品に取り組むにあたって「生きろ」という言葉が浮かんできたのですが、それは羞恥のようなものをものともせず楽曲制作の中心に居座り、最後まで私を引っ張っていってくれました。それだけ「不滅のあなたへ」の標題が強かったのだと思います。またこの言葉の意味をより考えさせるような問題がちょうど社会を賑わしていたことも大きく影響しました。いつもの自分なら5小節目（0分14秒～）は違っていたはずでした。
The words “You have to live” came to my mind as I commenced work on this. And in blatant defiance of my – shall we say – embarrassment at such a concept, this “command” clung to my core and would not leave, pulling me all the way to the end. I think that’s how powerful the title TO YOUR ETERNITY was for me. It was also a time when the world was facing something that required all of us to really think about these words. I was very much influenced by that as well. If it had been my usual self, the fifth bar (0:14 on) would have turned out differently.
「生きろ」を、優しさや寄り添いとして表現するならこのようにはならなかったでしょうし、かと言って励ましや奮い立たせる意味で強く表現しようとしたわけでもありません。「生きることを選択する切羽詰まった間際にさえ、あれこれと背負わされる責任なんて放棄してしまえ」…といった感じでしょうか。
If I were to express “You have to live” as something gentle and empathetic, the music would not have ended up as it did. Nor did I intend for a statement of encouragement or fortitude. I suppose it was more like, “Even when you are desperate just to stay alive, life throws all this stuff onto you – burdens be gone!”
私はその方が優しさや励ましよりもよっぽど具体的でロジカルではないかと感じました。いつもの自分ならその5小節目は優しい感じにしたり大きく広がるような表現をしようとしていたはずですが、強気で他者の視線を撥ねのけるようなイメージの展開が自然と生まれました。曲全体としても、最後はロック化？していき、その間際にあれこれ言われる筋合いはない…！くらいに無遠慮で驕傲になっていきます。演奏者の一人がとても楽しんでくれて「何を考えて作ってるんですか（笑）」とツッコんでくれたのがとても嬉しかったです。
I felt this was much more tangible and logical than gentleness or encouragement. My usual self would have made that fifth bar sound gentle or given it wider scope. But instead, the phrase naturally progressed towards something strong, something that repelled all outside gazes. In the end, the entire piece took on a rock ’n roll-kind of feel, telling everyone to hell with you, shut up! It was all as rude and arrogant as that. One of the musicians really got a kick out of this and jokingly asked, “What were you thinking?” I was quite pleased about that.
関係者やスタッフ、演奏家の皆さん、そしてなによりこのような強力な標題を与えて下さり、我が意を得たりとまで感じた素晴らしいタイトルをつけてくださった原作者の大今良時さんに感謝申し上げます。
I want to thank everyone involved, the staff, the musicians, and most of all Yoshitoki Oima, who as author of the original manga gave me such a powerful theme to work with, as well as came up with a spot-on title for the piece.
